Getting to Camp
The route to K’aayxada Adventure Camp follows an active logging road. It is recommended that every vehicle or convoy have a radio and call in its position at each yellow distance marker, as well as each change of road, and when leaving South Bay sort. The call procedure is pretty simple and should be kept as brief as possible as you will be on a working channel. VHF radio channel for road traffic is RR 11.
Radio Call Procedure:
State vehicle type: car, van, pick-up, etc
Distance marker: state the number on the yellow sign
State direction of travel: “up” (driving towards camp) or “down” (driving away from camp)
Which road (Main) you are on: South Bay or Moresby
Example: "Pick-up Moresby 2 up” then, "Pick-up Moresby 3 up” and so on.
